Sony Plans to Expand PlayStation 4 Remote Play
Sony Corp. (SNE) said Friday it plans to expand its PlayStation 4 remote-play function to Windows and Mac computers as a part of the company's efforts to spread its videogame network beyond its own gaming devices.
Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, tweeted about it:
Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac.

A Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman confirmed the development, though he declined to elaborate when the company would release the applications.
Using the remote play function, users can stream games from the console to a screen in a different location, over the Internet connection. Currently, the streaming can be receivable only at Sony smartphones and Sony's own portable game device Vita and Vita TV. Sony's rival Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is already offering a similar service for its Xbox One users.
The Japanese company said earlier this week it sold more than 30.2 million units of PlayStation 4 consoles, making it fastest-selling Sony videogame console ever.
